High-flying forwards Finnbar Maley and Zane Duursma both excited in the one-point VFL victory over Carlton at Ikon Park on Saturday evening and are in the frame for call-ups.

Breaking into the senior side will be a tough task for the duo, with the AFL team also in form, having claimed a stirring 11-point win over the Blues at the MCG in Round 15.

However, veteran Jack Darling will face a fitness test later in the week to determine his availability for the club's Round 16 clash with Hawthorn in Launceston.

Darling suffered a sizeable cut to his leg early on in the match with Carlton, so if he is ultimately ruled out, Maley and Duursma will be around the mark for selection.

Duursma kicked three goals from 16 disposals and took some important grabs around Ikon Park, while Maley took four contested marks while racking up 23 touches and booting a goal.

Mid-season draftee Zac Banch continued to hit the scoreboard. He added three more goals to his season tally, taking his total since arriving at Arden Street to seven from three appearances.

Will Phillips' impressive run of form continued as he picked up 25 disposals and eight clearances to remain on the radar for a potential recall.

Playing at half-back for the reserves, Cooper Harvey was again among the leading disposal-getters.

He notched 25 touches, six marks and six rebound 50s, while the young defensive trio of Wil Dawson (12 disposals, seven intercepts, four contested marks), Matt Whitlock (15 disposals, seven intercepts, seven marks) and Cooper Trembath (seven marks, five intercepts) controlled the airways.

Playing as the primary ruck, Callum Coleman-Jones was strong again. He fought through a physical battle to pick up 22 possessions (13 contested) and eight clearances.
