The North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos are set to unveil two debutants for Sunday's Round 2 clash against Port Adelaide at Arden Street Oval, with both Tessa Boyd and Amy Gavin Mangan to play their first AFLW game.
Boyd's journey to her AFLW started as a member of the Western Bulldogs' 2019 AFLW squad, before notching 30 games in the VFLW for the Southern Saints.
The talented rebounding defender was a standout in the early part of the 2025 VFLW season for North Melbourne Werribee.
Her impressive speed, agility, and strong athletic ability caught the attention of recruiters, leading to her signing as a replacement player for Niamh Martin, who returned to Ireland for study commitments.
Boyd will come into the team for the injured Nicole Bresnehan (hamstring).
Gavin Mangan's debut adds another exciting chapter to North's Irish connection.
The 25-year-old from County Offaly, Ireland, was selected with pick No.43 in the 2024 AFLW Draft.
She will be the second Irish player to debut for the Roos this season, following Blaithin Bogue's first game in Round 1.
Gavin Mangan will take the place of Jenna Bruton, who has been ruled out with a quad injury.
Both players will make their debuts at Arden Street Oval this Sunday.
As announced on Friday, Irish premiership hero Vikki Wall will replace Bella Eddey (shin).
The final team will be lodged on Sunday.
Fans are encouraged to be at the ground by 12.30pm to watch the Roos unfurl their 2024 premiership flag before the match. The opening bounce at Arden St is at 1.05pm.
