Four premiership players are pushing to return to the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos' side for Round 3's clash with Walyalup (Fremantle) in Western Australia.
Former captain Emma Kearney (calf) and star ruck Emma King (hamstring) will be looking to feature for the first time in 2025 when the Roos head to Fremantle Community Bank Oval, having missed the first two rounds through injury.
"Both 'Kearns' and 'Kingy' have ticked off all their rehab requirements and have been exceptionally professional in the process," North Melbourne senior AFLW physiotherapist Billy Williams said.
"They will train with the team during our main session on Thursday."
Forward-mid Jenna Bruton missed the 72-point thumping of Port Adelaide due to quad tightness.
Williams said the team took a cautious approach with Bruton, who is on track to be available for Sunday's game.
"She's feeling great now and completed a good training session today (Tuesday)" Williams said.
"She'll look to fully train on Thursday and if she ticks that off, she will be available for our trip to Fremantle."
Fellow forward Bella Eddey also missed Sunday's rout of the Power at Arden Street Oval, due to a minor shin issue.
"We decided to give her a short offload to settle down those symptoms," Williams said.
"She has recovered really well and will be a test to play this weekend."
Scans following last Thursday’s training session have revealed a serious hamstring injury for defender Nicole Bresnehan, who will now miss the next 4-5 weeks.
"Nicole had a relatively innocuous incident during the Cats game, which didn't settle early in the week," Williams said.
"We know how thorough Nicole is in her approach to footy and we'll support her to be back at her best later in the season."
Ruck Kim Rennie suffered a minor ankle roll in a ruck contest during Sunday's third quarter. Though she took no further part in the game, she is expected to be ready to go for Sunday afternoon.
