Unrestricted free agent Charlie Spargo has indicated his intention to play for North Melbourne from 2026.

Spargo was part of Melbourne’s drought-breaking premiership team in 2021, and played 102 games for the Dees after being taken at selection No.29 in the 2017 AFL Draft.

His father Paul played 81 games for the Kangaroos from 1985-92.

“We’re really pleased Charlie wants to join North Melbourne,” North Melbourne’s head of football talent Brady Rawlings said.

“As an unrestricted free agent, Charlie can formally accept our offer when the free agency period opens next month.”

The AFL’s free agency period opens on Friday, October 3.
