North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos superstar Jasmine Garner has claimed the AFL Players’ MVP Award for the third time, voted by her peers as the best player in the 2025 AFLW season.
This prestigious honour adds to Garner's already legendary list of career accolades, which includes four AFLCA Champion Player of the Year awards, five North Melbourne club champion wins, and a best-on-ground medal from the 2024 AFLW Grand Final.
The Kangaroos skipper was also voted the AFL Players’ Best Captain, winning the award in her first season at the helm.
Garner was appointed captain of North Melbourne ahead of the 2025 season after Emma Kearney stepped down as skipper.
She earned her eighth All-Australian selection at Monday night’s W Awards, where she was named captain of the team for the third time in her career.
The AFLPA honours come following another breathtaking performance in North Melbourne’s come-from-behind preliminary final victory over Melbourne over the weekend.
The superstar midfielder led from the front, amassing 32 disposals, including 12 in the final quarter, along with a clutch goal late in the match to help seal North Melbourne’s third straight Grand Final berth.
Throughout the home-and-away campaign, Garner led the team in score involvements, booted 19 goals, and averaged 27 disposals per game.
Garner was nominated for the MVP award alongside teammates Ash Riddell and Erika O’Shea.
The Kangaroos will now take on the Brisbane Lions in Saturday’s decider at Ikon Park. The opening bounce is at 7.45 pm AEDT.
