North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos vice-captain Ash Riddell has been crowned the 2025 Club Champion following a record-breaking season.
The victory comes after Riddell became the first Kangaroos player to take out the League’s top honour, the W Best and Fairest Award.
Riddell clinched the Club Champion award with a total of 238 votes, ahead of runner-up and premiership captain Jasmine Garner (217 votes), and third-place finisher Libby Birch (174). Amy Smith (168) and Erika O’Shea (165) rounded out the top five.
Riddell’s win solidifies her status as one of the competition’s elite, capping off a remarkable year that included securing back-to-back AFLW premierships with the Kangaroos.
During the 2025 campaign, Riddell broke the AFLW record for most disposals in a single game three times, setting the current benchmark at an astounding 45 disposals in Round 8 against Sydney.
Her exceptional form carried into the finals series, where she set a record for most disposals in an AFLW Grand Final with 38.
This is Riddell's second North Melbourne Club Champion award, having previously claimed the honour in Season 6, 2022.
Garner takes out the runner-up position in her first season as captain, following another sensational campaign in the royal blue and white.
The 31-year-old recently earned a record-equalling eighth All-Australian blazer and averaged 27.3 disposals, 5.1 clearances, and booted a career-high 21 goals for the season.
Meanwhile, Birch has earned her first top-three finish as a Kangaroo, expertly leading the defence all season.
The 28-year-old key defender was a key pillar in the League’s best defence, averaging career-highs in disposals (15.7), marks (4.8), and metres gained (142). The recognition also comes in the same season where Birch became the first North Melbourne player to reach the 100-game milestone.
In other awards, Garner was acknowledged as Shinboner of the Year, while Irish sensation Blaithin Bogue was named as the club’s Best Young Player following a breakout season.
Jasmine Ferguson was named Best Clubwoman, and Riddell also claimed the fan-voted Mazda BT-50 Give It Heaps Award.
