Each week, the best VFL player will be crowned MVP – Presented by the Limerick Castle; a country-style pub located in the heart of North Melbourne.

Round 3: Tom Campbell.

For the second consecutive week, big man Tom Campbell was a standout for North Melbourne’s VFL side.

In the first game of a VFL doubleheader at Avalon Airport Oval, the 27-year-old proved to be a handful for the opposition.

Starting initially in the ruck, Campbell tallied 34 hit-outs to complement his one goal. He also had 12 disposals and laid three tackles.

Despite a disappointing loss against the Bombers, VFL senior coach David Loader commended the efforts of the in-form tall.

“Tom has been fantastic,” Loader told North Media.

“He’s been really beneficial to the group, playing good footy and will be putting his hand to play up a level too.

“We had so many guys that were down across the board, but he was great.

“If he can come in and play his role, he'll keep putting his hand up to be looked at.”

Promising youngster Curtis Taylor echoed Loader’s thoughts.

“It’s been a real Shinboner trait of Tommy’s that he has marshalled the boys,” Taylor said.

“Just to what he’s been doing to come in at quarter-time, he’s so positive around the boys, it’s really impressive.”
