Petrie, Harvey and Firrito were among the famous surnames represented at North Melbourne's annual father-son day at Arden St on Wednesday.

The Kangaroos hosted sons of 11 past players, whose careers ranged from the 1980s to the 2010s.

The potential future Roos included Hudson Harvey, son of champion Roo Brent 'Boomer' Harvey, who will be inducted into the club's Hall of Fame later this month.

Hudson's older brother Cooper, who was on hand to help present the boys with guernseys bearing their dads' numbers, remembered father-son days in his childhood as being his favourite day of the year.

The father-sons also spent time with the AFL team and were put through their paces with a skills session.

The next generation will hope to follow in the footsteps of the six AFL/W Kangaroos carrying on a family legacy at Arden St, including father-sons Harvey, Jackson Archer, River Stevens, Luke McDonald and Bailey Scott, and father-daughter player Amy Smith.
