Tom Blamires will push his case for an immediate recall for North Melbourne's home match against St Kilda on Sunday, having completed the AFL's mandated concussion protocols.

Blamires suffered a head knock against Collingwood in Round 18 and could slot straight back into the line-up against the Saints.

Veteran defender Luke McDonald picked up a calf strain in Saturday's defeat to Melbourne and could make way if he is unable to prove his fitness later in the week.

Lachy Dovaston was one of the top VFL performers against Casey over the weekend and will be in the frame to make his first AFL appearance since Round 8.

The first-year Roo slotted four goals from 15 disposals, while his partner in crime Jacob Konstanty booted three of his own from 17 touches.

"We know 'JK' always brings really good pressure and effort wherever he is on the field," VFL coach Adam Marcon said post-game v Casey.

"It was nice to see him get rewarded for this on the scoreboard and I thought he was really solid for us up the ground as well."

Griffin Logue stood tall in the backline against the Demons, winning 19 disposals, nine marks and six intercept possessions in an effort to return to Alastair Clarkson’s first 23.

Robert Hansen jnr also had an impact, particularly defensively, finishing with game-highs for intercepts (10) as well as marks (10). Hansen jnr has been untried at the highest level this season but could get his chance across the next month of action.

Young onballer Luke Urquhart was in the groove against Casey, grabbing 20 possessions (10 contested), while fellow youngster Ollie Griffin, who was an AFL emergency against Melbourne, notched 12 disposals and a goal to again throw his name into the mix.

Forward Zac Banch (hamstring) and onballer Tom Powell (groin) are also a chance of making their playing returns this week.
