North Melbourne will be forced to make at least one change heading into its final match of the 2026 season.

As reported earlier in the week, star midfielder Harry Sheezel won't feature against Sydney, having suffered a fractured cheekbone against Geelong at Marvel Stadium on Saturday.

Bailey Scott was prolific in the Kangaroos' VFL loss to the Cats at Arden Street Oval. The No.8 raised his hand for a recall by amassing 41 disposals, nine score involvements and seven clearances to go along with eight tackles.

"'Scotty' was really strong today in the middle. He racked up a bunch of touches, but more pleasing was the eight tackles, showing that he was able to do it on offence and defence," VFL coach Adam Marcon said post-game.

Cooper Harvey was also in form, racking up a game-high 43 disposals off half-back to go with 13 marks and eight intercepts. The performance puts the young defender right in the frame for an eighth senior appearance this season.

Zac Fisher booted the Roos' opener and went on to finish with 31 touches, while Tom Powell, in his return from a groin issue, kicked one major from 13 possessions.

Josh Goater collected 26 disposals and five intercepts in his reserves return to put himself immediately back into AFL consideration. Fellow defender Luke McDonald is also available for selection having overcome a calf injury.

Brayden George staked a claim for a late-season debut, booting two goals from 14 disposals.

Young tall forwards Oliver Griffin and Matt Whitlock clunked a combined five contested marks, with Griffin kicking three goals and Whitlock slotting one in the dying stages of the clash.
