North Melbourne will take on the high-flying Western Bulldogs without Erika O'Shea, after the Kangaroo defender was concussed in the closing seconds of Saturday night's win over Brisbane.
O'Shea was among the best on ground in the Grand Final rematch against the Lions, receiving nine votes from the two coaches, equal with her superstar teammate Ash Riddell.Â
Senior physiotherapist Billy Williams said O'Shea will miss 1-2 weeks as she enters mandatory concussion protocols.Â
"Erika unfortunately clashed heads with an opponent right before the final siren," Williams said.Â
"On assessment post-game she was diagnosed with concussion and has entered her return to play protocols.
"She will continue to be monitored over this week as she grades back into exercise."
Experienced defender Nicole Bresnehan (knee) continues to close on a return to play from the ACL injury she suffered last season, while winger Taylah Gatt (groin) is 3-4 weeks away from her potential playing return.
The Kangaroos face the 2-0 Bulldogs at Launceston's UTAS Stadium at 12.35pm AEST on Saturday.Â
