Kangaroo stars Harry Sheezel and Luke Davies-Uniacke set new benchmarks at Monday night's 2026 Brownlow Medal count.
Sheezel, who finished equal fifth behind winner Nick Daicos, won 27 votes, the most by a North Melbourne player in 52 years.
His tally equals the all-time record for the club set by champion wingman Keith Greig.Â
Greig, a club Legend, achieved the feat twice, recording 27 votes in each of his back-to-back Brownlow-winning seasons in 1973 and 1974.
Sheezel's tally was fitting reward for an outstanding individual season.
The vice-captain earned five best-on-ground performances, including three in a row in a purple patch between rounds 14 and 16.
Davies-Uniacke, who finished in the top 20 in Monday night's count, set a new personal career high by polling 19 votes.
Nine of Davies-Uniacke's votes came in the first six rounds as he made a hot start to the season.
He delivered three-vote performances against Port Adelaide in Round 1, and in the AFL SuperClash thriller against Carlton in Round 4.
Of the 11 Kangaroos to feature in Monday night's count, three players earned their first ever Brownlow votes.
Dylan Stephens won two votes for his performance in the Round 1 win over Port Adelaide. Forward Paul Curtis twice earned a single vote (Round 6 v Richmond, Round 22 v Western Bulldogs), while rising star Cooper Trembath polled two votes for his four goals in Round 15's win over Richmond.
