North Melbourne has finalised a trade that sees Josh Goater depart for Hawthorn.

In return, the Kangaroos have added a 2027 future third-round selection, tied to Port Adelaide.

The club will now take picks 33, 49, 66, 74 and 84 into this year's Telstra AFL Draft.

Goater played 18 games in his five years with the club after making his debut in Round 23, 2022.

Head of football talent Brady Rawlings thanked Goater for his efforts during his time at the club.

"We thank Josh for his hard work and commitment to our program over the years," Rawlings said.

"We've worked closely with Josh and his management throughout this period to ensure a smooth transition that suits everyone involved."
