Jed Anderson is on the brink of extending his tenure at Arden Street with the 24-year-old revealing a new deal is in the works.

The hard-nosed midfielder is in the midst of his best season yet, thanks to an uninterrupted run.

"We're in negotiations at the moment,” Anderson told Fairfax Media.

“Nothing is finalised but we're talking through that and it will be good outcome for what I put in during the off-season.

"It will work out in due time and at the moment [I am] just enjoying playing footy."

Anderson left Hawthorn to join North at the end of 2015 on a three-year deal. Despite a slow start littered with injuries, Anderson has endured and emerged as a damaging player with loads of upside and talent.

Initially played as a small forward, North’s No.3 has been used effectively in the midfield in his 13 games so far this season.

"I did not think about the contract. I just stuck my head down and focused on getting my body right," Anderson said.

Anderson has played 38 career games, 28 of those with the Kangaroos.
