CONNECT @ The Huddle aims to help 15-25 year olds ‘connect’ with learning, recreation, employment opportunities, technology, community and each other.
Attorney-General Robert McClelland recently announced over $1.7 million for a range of community driven projects aimed at countering violent extremism - North Melbourne’s initiative was identified as a key plank in achieving that goal.
“We are delighted to have been recognised by the Attorney General and look forward to working with his department in an effort to ensure CONNECT @ The Huddle has a profound impact on our local community,” General Manager The Huddle Dr. Sonja Hood told kangaroos.com.au.
A total of 22 grants have been awarded under the Building Community Resilience Grants Program.
North Melbourne players and local community leaders will work to develop and deliver the CONNECT program.
“CONNECT will build on existing Huddle programs to help young people achieve their potential. This provides us with yet another exciting opportunity to make a real difference,” Dr. Hood added.
