The Kangaroos will challenge a striking charge against Daniel Pratt, who is facing a one-week ban, while the Power's Troy Chaplin will try to overturn a two-week stint on the sidelines.
Neither Pratt nor Chaplin have anything to lose by taking their cases to the Tribunal. Both have existing poor records, meaning neither could reduce his sentence with an early plea.
Pratt was booked for striking Sydney Swan defender Nick Malceski during the second term of his side’s loss at the SCG on Sunday.
The AFL’s match review panel hit Chaplin with a two-match suspension for acharging offence on Brisbane Lions youngster Daniel Rich.
Chaplin was booked late in the third quarter of Saturday’s win. Rich was concussed following the incident and finished the match on the interchange bench.
Pratt and Chaplin will be the only two cases to be heard on Tuesday night after four other players accepted their sanctions from the MRP.
Brisbane Lion Jared Brennan will escape with a one-match ban for headbutting Port Adelaide’s Josh Carr, Demon Colin Sylvia has accepted three weeks for striking while Carlton’s Mark Austin has also accepted one week for striking.
The other player charged, Melbourne’s Ricky Petterd, has accepted a $900 fine for abusive language towards an umpire.
