Defender Daniel Pratt said the Roos could sympathise with the Tigers' situation after the recent rubber chicken video incident, which put an enormous focus on North Melbourne.
Richmond has faced a similarly high level of scrutiny since Terry Wallace's side lost to Melbourne on Sunday.
"It is easy for people to speculate and they are probably feeling it similar to what we were the week before," Pratt said from Arden Street on Tuesday morning.
But he said the mood around his club had swung.
The Roos bounced back with a 12-point win over Essendon on Sunday after consecutive losses to the Western Bulldogs and Hawthorn.
"It has been great the way that the boys have held together over the last two or three weeks," Pratt said.
"It was disappointing against Hawthorn after that week we had but it is testament to the character of everyone at the football club the way everyone went about it.
"It could have easily fallen apart.
"I couldn't ask for anything more with the support they've shown me and Simmo (Adam Simpson)."
Pratt added that North would focus on its own preparations rather than the Tigers' plight.
"We're going to be trying to come out pretty hard this week," he said. "For us, it's not about what they're thinking. It's about what we do and it's about our intent and the way we go about it.
"If we can win the contests on Saturday night, hopefully it will go well towards winning the game."
However, Pratt has been the target of in-house banter after becoming the first player to be penalised under the AFL's new rushed behind rule.
Pratt handed Essendon forward Matthew Lloyd a free kick in the goal square after his indecision at a kick-in left him with little choice but to run the ball over the line.
Lloyd's goal narrowed the margin to seven points.
"I've been getting emails about what I should have done, trainers telling me what I should have done, supporters [and] the lady in the cafe down the road telling me what I should have done," Pratt said.
"It's just one of those things that I'm going to have to live with. I'm going to have to cop it for a couple of weeks.
"We played it yesterday (Monday) in the match review and everyone had a pretty good laugh about it. If it had have cost us the game, it probably would have been a different story now."
