North Melbourne's Lachlan Hansen has been outed for two weeks after being found guilty of rough conduct by the VFL Tribunal.

Hansen, who kicked three goals and took 13 marks for Werribee on Saturday was cited for contact on Northern Blues' player Tim Totevski during the third quarter.

His penalty will effectively see him out for three weeks, with no VFL fixtures scheduled this weekend.

Hansen was likely to be pushing for selection against Brisbane.

North Melbourne has the opportunity to appeal the decision on Thursday, but risks having Hansen's penalty increased.
