What makes North Melbourne special?
North makes me feel like I have a family in Melbourne. When I moved down from Queensland, I didn’t have any family that I could call on if I needed help. But from day one my teammates and the North staff have been willing to help me in any way, shape, or form.

Describe North Melbourne in one sentence …
North isn’t just a club, it’s a second home. North encompasses all things family and has created an environment that is welcoming and fun.

If we told you growing up there’d be a national women’s competition, and you’d be playing in it … what would you say?
I’d say: “Do we get to play in the big stadiums and in front of crowds like the men do?”

What’s your advice to aspiring female footballers?
If your dream is to play in the AFLW competition, go for it! It will be hard work, but if you really want to play in the competition, you won’t hate doing all the extra hours because with each time you train, you know you’re improving physically and mentally and improving your skills.

My favourite thing about footy is …
Footy is a safe place where you can train or play to get your mind off what is happening in life; whether that be at university, work, or home. Also, the friendships I have formed and the bond I have with my teammates is irreplaceable.

Outside of footy I …
I study Podiatry at UQ and work for Auskick.

My favourite North player is …
Jas Grierson.

My footy inspiration is …
Simon Black.

Who wins the 2020 North AFLW B & F?
Jasmine Garner.

If you could create your own AFLW team’s mascot what would it be?
A Cockatoo with wings that spread open to show heaps of bright coloured feathers.

Most embarrassing footy moment  ...
Tripping over my own feet in the 2nd game of the 2017 season and injuring my shoulder.

Favourite part of 2020 season ...
Being involved in such a welcoming club; a club that is united not just the women’s team or men’s team. North has created an environment where staff and the men’s team stop to chat in the hallways and always encourage each other. Having this sort of environment off field has allowed the women’s team to gel in a short amount of time, and I think this was reflected in the way we played and supported each other.

Worst part of pre-season?
Having to wait until the end of the year to train with the team.

Weirdest pre-game tradition/ritual?
I always have to re-tie my laces in the change rooms, in warm up, and in the huddle.

What did you want to be when you were younger?
A firefighter.

Most influential person in your life?
My mum and dad and entire family. They’ve always travelled to and from training and games, no matter what sport I was playing and stayed to watch and support me.

Having people who want the best for me has had a huge influence. Encouraging me and giving me feedback whether I wanted to hear it or not, has made me the person I am today.

Which club song always gets stuck in your head? ?
Brisbane Lions. I grew up listening to it and only found out a couple of years ago I was actually singing it wrong in some sections.

How did you react when you were told you were going to play for an AFLW team?
I was actually working in a bakery at the time of the draft in 2015 and was unaware I had been drafted until later that afternoon. I had lots of missed calls and messages from Craig Starcevich and family members. I was overwhelmed with joy and excitement but most of all, super proud to be selected.
