It's set to be a very different looking AFLW Best and Fairest count this year, but it's sure to be just as hotly contested.

After winning all but one game in 2020, the North Melbourne Tasmanian Kangaroos have boasted a number of star performers - but who will take out the team's highest honour?

With four players in the top 12 in the AFLW Coaches' Champion Player of the Year, North has had a brilliant year.

It's an open race, but here's a few of the top contenders.

(in alphabetical order)

Sophie Abbatangelo
One of the biggest improvers of 2020, Abbatangelo took her game to a new level.

She booted 6 goals, up from 2 last year, tripled her tackling rate in attack, and became a constant threat inside 50.

Kaitlyn Ashmore
The dynamic forward played a key role in front of goal, particularly late in the year.

Equal-third in the competition with 9 majors.

Jenna Bruton
After winning the award in 2019, Bruton was just as impactful this year.

She averaged over 17 disposals a game, 5 tackles and almost 4 clearances.

Jas Garner
Having already claimed the Coaches' top honours and the AFL Players' MVP, Garner had a memorable season.

As well as booting 8 goals, she was second in the league for score involvements, equal-first for marks, and averaged over 20 touches a game.

Ellie Gavalas
In her first season in the league, Gavalas made all posts a winner.

Tough in the contest and a strong ball-winner, she averaged 13 disposals, 5 tackles and 3 inside 50s.

Emma Kearney
The inspirational skipper was at her very best in 2020.

Kearney averaged over 20 disposals, was fourth in the league for metres gained, seventh for clearances and second for inside 50s.

Ash Riddell
Coming back from injury, Riddell was simply outstanding through the midfield.

Third in the league for disposals (21.3 a game), third for metres gained, fourth for clearances and fourth for score involvements.

Vivien Saad
She only joined the list on the eve of Round 1, but Saad was super-impressive in her first year.

Undersized in the ruck, she did her best work around the ground, averaging strong numbers for a tall, with 10 disposals and 7 hit-outs a game.
