Sam Wright has recovered from the shoulder soreness that kept him out against the Power and reclaimed his place in the North Melbourne side.

One of three inclusions into the Kangaroos’ 22 for Sunday’s match, Wright could be used either forward or back upon his return.

Aaron Black has been rewarded for promising VFL form and provides another key-position option. A solid performance by the youngster could go a long way towards cementing a spot in the forward-line.

Also in attack, Aaron Edwards will be welcomed back after he was a late withdrawal only hours before the club’s Round 8 fixture. With five goals in his two games against the Lions in 2011, Edwards looms as a pivotal inclusion for North Melbourne.

“He’ll (Edwards) be an important part in our forward line and I think we function better as a forward line when he’s there. He’s fit, healthy and raring to go,” coach Brad Scott said.

While Brad McKenzie’s omission was confirmed on Thursday, Ben Warren and Cameron Pedersen will also be forced to watch on from the sidelines after being left out of the final team. The pair have been named as emergencies, as has midfield ball-winner Cruize Garlett.

Celebrating a milestone, Lindsay Thomas is set to play his 100th game against the Lions. After making his debut in Round 1 of 2007, Thomas has become a consistent fixture in the North side and has kicked 127 career goals.
