In Friday’s preview for the Round 3 match against Port Adelaide, we made mention of Levi Greenwood as a player worth looking at in fantasy

circles. However we have to admit, Prophets or not, even we didn’t see Greenwood’s incredible effort coming.

After 54 points as the sub against the Bulldogs, the fantasy world was quietly hopeful that Greenwood would dodge the vest in Round 3 and put on a show. Well, that he certainly did. 34 disposals, 11 marks, 7 tackles, 6 inside-50s, all leading to a best on ground 147-point fantasy score.

Greenwood’s fantasy price has jumped up to $405,981 as a result of his day out. It’s a shame he’s not a little cheaper, given he only played the six games last year, but he should make a bit of money over the next few weeks regardless in AFL Fantasy Classic. He isn’t a must-have, but he’s worth considering as a trade-in.

The midfielder produced his personal best fantasy score on the weekend, but he wasn’t alone. Luke McDonald had a blinder and put up the biggest numbers of his short career, with 23 disposals and 8 tackles leading him to his first ton – a score of 101.

McDonald’s price has now risen $45,400 from where it started in AFL Fantasy Classic, a nice profit for coaches who took our advice to #LockInLuke.

North also saw big fantasy performances from Sam Gibson (124 points), Ben Cunnington (120), Nick Dal Santo (115), and Ryan Bastinac (113) who all put in huge games and helped the team get over the line against the Power.

Aaron Mullett in particular was impressive with 102 points from 22 possessions, 8 marks and 2 goals.

The defender enjoyed a breakout year in 2013 when he played all 22 games and looks to be improving in 2014 with an average of 84 points across the first three games.

At $409,464 in AFL Fantasy Classic he’s a bit expensive, but might be a handy point of difference in the backline.

Lachlan Hansen (99) and Todd Goldstein (93) played their best games for the year, and Brent Harvey chimed in with 3 goals including the sealer to get to a healthy total of 97 points for the day. Shaun Atley’s score of 89 off 24 disposals was golden.

The only disappointment for the day in fantasy terms was Drew Petrie ($353,578), who managed just 4 disposals and 2 marks and was on the wrong side of the umpires, giving away three free kicks.

Petrie’s AFL Fantasy Classic price has now dropped by $111,000 since Round 1, making him ultra-cheap. Be ready to trade him in soon, as he’s bound to bounce back from this uncharacteristic form slump.

Around the Grounds

We saw some gigantic fantasy scores on the weekend. Gary Ablett and Tom Rockliff went head to head on the Gold Coast, and while Ablett’s Suns ran out the winners, Rockliff claimed best afield honours in fantasy stakes with a bumper score of 157. Ablett wouldn’t be too stressed, putting up 146 points of his own.

Neither claimed best of the round though – that honour was reserved for young Giant Adam Treloar, who had 33 disposals, a goal, and an incredible 14 tackles on his way to a round-topping 159 fantasy points.

A big fantasy gun got back to his best; it was Lance Franklin with 4 goals helping the Swans to a huge win over the Crows and notching 113 points on the way. He’s underpriced at $403,818 and is one to target this week.

Out west, Luke Dunstan put up the second fantasy ton of his short career with 113 points against the Eagles – the biggest score of any player from that game. He has already made a $104,600 profit on his starting price in AFL Fantasy Classic this year. Take a bow, Dunstan.

With Andrew Swallow still on the sidelines for North, we’ve all had to make do watching his brother David play for the Suns.

It hasn’t been a bad show with the younger Swallow managing an average of 100 points per game in the first three rounds and making a $54,200 profit for those who selected him to start the year.
