Goldstein convincingly defeated Sam Jacobs to give the North midfield first use of the ball. In his post-match press conference, Brad Scott praised the ruckman saying he, 'thought Goldstein gave us real impetus in the first half'.
Three goals and two goal assists resulted in Thomas being named in a forward pocket. The goalsneak also had five inside-50's, demonstrating his ability to be a threat both close to goal and further up the ground.
Since his return to the side following the bye, the number 12 has given the North forward line an added dimension through the extra opportunities he creates.
Slightly further up the field is Adams on a half-forward flank. His first quarter was a big part in North Melbourne entering the first break 22-points in front and his influence stayed strong throughout the entire game.
Adams filled the stat sheet with multiple clearances, tackles, one percenters, inside-50's and marks to go with three goals.
31 disposals and a best-on-ground performance earned Wells a nomination on the wing alongside Jobe Watson and Dayne Beams. He earned a perfect 10 from the coaches for Sunday's performance.
Despite four nominations, a case could be made for both Shaun Atley and Robbie Tarrant to be included in the team for their impressive output.
