AFL: Trade winds - Wednesday
Intrigue has increased with out-of-favour Swan Jesse White following a number of Adelaide players on Twitter on Tuesday night.
Tippett's manager has also said he remains "supremely confident" a deal will be done to get the key forward to the reigning premiers.
It is almost two weeks now since Tippett declared his desire to leave South Australia and join the Swans, but with the October 26 trade deadline fast approaching, no deal has been announced.
With talks seemingly stalled, Greater Western Sydney boldly entered the race this week, saying it was prepared to give up all but its No.1 NAB AFL Draft pick to snare the want-away key forward.
But the Giants' interest is irrelevant, according to Tippett's manager Peter Blucher, because his client will be donning red and white in 2013, according to the Adelaide Advertiser.
"We've had no contact from the Giants … and it doesn't matter because Kurt has chosen to be with the Sydney Swans," Blucher said.
"I remain supremely confident a deal will be done. The Adelaide and Sydney football clubs are two good groups - they will work it out."
The Swans are reportedly able to meet Tippett's wage demands, but their apparent offers of a second-round pick or out-of-favour forward/ruck White are short of the Crows' expectations.
There was some movement in the Gillette AFL Trade Period on Tuesday night, with Chris Dawes finally granted his desire of a shift from Collingwood to Melbourne.
The Demons gave up pick 20 in this year's NAB AFL Draft and the clubs also swapped a third-round pick.
Both sides appeared pleased with the deal, with Melbourne viewing him as a long-term player.
"At 24 years of age, he will grow with the rest of our group and will help build a potent forward line set-up for the Melbourne Football Club," Melbourne list manager Tim Harrington said.
Collingwood also wished the 2010 premiership player well with his new team, calling him a "popular figure" who "played some good football for the club".
The deal prompted a flood of responses on social media, with many believing the Pies took the bragging rights as they now hold three first-round picks - all coming inside the top 21 - and have already signed Quinten Lynch.
There were also plenty of queries over Dawes' reported four-year, $2 million salary, although many Demons fans were salivating at the prospect of him in a forward line potentially boasting Mitch Clark and Jack Watts.
With high hopes for 17-year-old key position player Jesse Hogan, who joined the Dees as compensation for the Tom Scully to GWS trade and will start playing in 2014, there is some optimism around Mark Neeld's squad.
The AFL should ratify the Dawes move on Wednesday, ending a quiet stretch in this year's extended trade period.
Having lost free agent Danyle Pearce to Fremantle, and deciding to delist David Rodan and Simon Phillips, Port is short on small forwards.
