NORTH Melbourne's class and experience has proved too much for Greater Western Sydney at Hobart's Blundstone Arena, with the Kangaroos winning by 129 points.
North won 28.15 (183) to 8.6 (54), thoroughly dominating three quarters.
The match was over as a contest at quarter-time when the Roos led by 43 points, and they extended the margin to 76 points at the main break, when the Giants were goalless.
The Giants fought back bravely in the third term, kicking six goals, but North kicked eight of their own, and stretched the lead beyond 100 points early in the final quarter.
Aaron Edwards, with five, led the way among 15 goalkickers for North Melbourne.

Hamish McIntosh (three), Ryan Bastinac, Liam Anthony, Ben Cunnington, Drew Petrie, Todd Goldstein, Brent Harvey and Aaron Mullett (all two) were among the plethora of goalkickers for North in the first AFL game to be played at Blundstone Arena.
Midfielders Bastinac, Anthony and Leigh Adams were outstanding for North, while Michael Firrito proved virtually impassable in defence. Daniel Wells worked into the match after half-time, while Harvey was on fire in the first term with 15 disposals.
Forward Jeremy Cameron excelled with four goals for the Giants. Chad Cornes battled courageously in defence against immense odds and Jonathan Giles fought hard in the ruck, leading all comers with 26 hit-outs.
Kevin Sheedy's side showed some fight to briefly pull themselves off the canvas after half-time, but the young side's execution was woeful against a Kangaroos outfit whose non-stop workrate saw them full of running.
North led 7.4 (46) to 0.3 (3) at the first break and 12.8 (80) to 0.4 (4) at halftime, with Edwards booting his first three before quarter-time.
It took the Giants nearly 25 minutes to post their first point, a behind to Curtly Hampton, with North already leading by 40.
The 11,127-strong Hobart crowd would have been wondering if they were going to see a Giants goal when they could only manage a point in the second quarter but, led by Cameron, they rebounded with in the third.
The Giants have a week to get over their loss before a clash at Blacktown with West Coast next Sunday., while North will be considering the merits of the hit-out before they play premiers Geelong.
