On a spiteful night at Avalon Airport Oval, Lachlan Hansen was a lone hand in a second successive heavy Werribee loss, this one to Box Hill by 40-points.

While Werribee struggled rebounding the ball from its backline, Hansen provided a strong target up forward and played on a wing at times. Seemingly over his injury issues, his performance will put him at the forefront of Brad Scott's mind when it comes to picking the side for North's round 3 clash with Geelong.

Hansen kicked four goals from seven shots and pulled down 10 marks in a great return effort while former Box Hill captain Sam Gibson went up against his old side and rebounded from a below par outing against Port Melbourne last week to finish with 30 possessions.

Majak Daw also made his long-awaited comeback after injury and a pre-season suspension, although he was reported for charging former Roo Daniel Pratt.

Levi Greenwood collected 20 disposals with Malcolm Lynch collecting 16 but applying great pressure with hi speed. Inaccuracy let Ben McKinley down on the night and the forward kicked one goal, four behinds to go along with 19 touches.

Brad Mangan was in the wars with some minor injury issues down back with Cam Pedersen playing ruck, forward and centre-half back. The all-round effort yielded 27 disposals.

Will Sierakowski continues to improve with 22 possessions and a lot of run through the corridor while Ben Speight got better in the second half with 13 disposals.

After five goals last week, Ben Warren has a quieter game notching up 17 touches and seven marks.

Ayden Kennedy was encouraging again playing around 80 percent game time in his comeback from a serious knee injury.
