The game against the Eagles marks the Roos’ second home fixture in the Apple Isle.
“I’m shattered I won’t be able to play in our next game at Blundstone Arena because I loved playing there in Round 2. The boys will have a tough battle on their hands against the Eagles and it will be a game not to be missed for everyone in Hobart,” McIntosh told kangaroos.com.au.
But looking at the bright side, McIntosh relished the chance to meet with locals during a visit to the Centrepoint Shopping Centre with Ben McKinley during the week.
“Ben and I were shocked to see so much blue and white around the city and the shopping centre and to meet so many excited footy fans here. It’s really encouraging for us and the club to receive such fantastic support down here in Tassie,”
The players helped launched the ‘Go white and blue for the Roos’ campaign which is designed to encourage local businesses to support North and by decorating their shops with club colours. The competition, run in partnership with radio station 7HOFM, gives one lucky business the chance to win a 7HOFM StreetStar Module valued at over $1,700, which includes exclusive radio advertising and promotional opportunities.
“They’ve really responded to the competition and bought into our presence here which is great,” McIntosh added.
The players met with supporters and local shoppers during their visit to sign autographs, pose for photos and raise excitement for the big game ahead.
