Eight Kangaroos shared the 30 votes, with Ryan Bastinac the undisputed best player on the ground.
With 44 possessions and two goals, Bastinac was the clear first pick and polled the maximum ten votes in the AFL Coaches Association Award, while Liam Anthony, Michael Firrito and Brent Harvey were equal second.
Anthony racked up 38 disposals and kicked two goals, Firrito had a career-high 33 possessions and repelled countless attacks while Harvey got the ball rolling in the first term before finishing with 32 touches and two majors.
On any other day Aaron Edwards’ five-goals may have seen him higher in the voting but he has to settle for three. It’s the same story for Andrew Swallow who had 29 possessions and a goal to his name.
Leigh Adams was perhaps the unluckiest player of all getting just a single vote despite 37 disposals and a goal.
