The new position of General Manager - Tasmania is about to be advertised and requires an individual willing to be responsible for the management, planning and commercial outcomes of the club’s Tasmanian operations.
“This is another example of North Melbourne making a commitment to Hobart and Tasmania. We want some local knowledge and will be providing more opportunities like this for people to become actively involved with an AFL club,” North chief executive Eugene Arocca said.
“We see this as a vital and important role and will be looking to attract only the best candidates who will work to deliver the best outcomes for the club, the City of Hobart and Tasmania.”
The full-time opportunity is rare and exciting with competition for positions in the AFL as highly sought after as any other industry in the country.
Based in Hobart, the General Manager - Tasmania will manage all key stakeholders and partners, liaise with Melbourne-based General Managers in membership, commercial sales, fan development, media and finance, and will also be charged with the responsibility for the club’s sales strategy and commercial outcomes.
“We will be going live on Seek.com.au on Friday advertising to the wider population but wanted to give the people of Hobart and Tasmania the first opportunity to become involved at the highest level. This is really a once in a lifetime opportunity for one passionate person to be part of history and help lay the foundations for what will be a long-lasting and successful partnership.”
Reporting to the club’s chief operating officer, candidates should have a strong management and/or sales background, be able to work hands-on with exceptional communication skills and have an ability to manage budgets and multiple key relationships.
Applications close on Friday 2nd September and need to be submitted online via email to employment@kangaroos.com.au.
