With six games under his belt and the achilles troubles that hampered three-quarters of his season now a distant memory, Hamish McIntosh is pressing hard for a call-up into the senior side.

Named best-on-ground for Werribee on Saturday, McIntosh was terrific in the ruck working in tandem with fellow Kangaroo Majak Daw.

Development coach John Lamont said it was the big man's "best game to date" with 21 possessions, 25 hit-outs and three goals to his name.

A 98-point win and one of North’s finest team efforts of the year may go against McIntosh and also Ben Ross who had another great game.

"Ben showed up with his speed to break the game up and provided Werribee with some penetration," Lamont said.

"Werribee looked their best when Rossy had the ball."

Ross followed up his best afield effort against Bendigo a fortnight ago with 21 possessions and eight inside 50's.

On a difficult day for the forwards, Ben Warren tried hard without a huge amount of luck. He finished with 12 disposals and took six marks, while Ben McKinley kicked two majors from limited opportunities.

In defence, Jamie Macmillan was solid on a variety of opponents, but also did the job going the other way with 17 possessions and eight rebound 50's.

Gavin Urquhart and Daw had little impact on the game, with nine and 10 possessions respectively, although the latter did rack up 17 hit-outs and kicked a goal.

The 44-point loss means Werribee will need to defeat the Roosters and hope other results fall its way to claim an all-important top four spot.
