North Melbourne alerted the AFL of the change following training on Friday after Greenwood was unable to complete the session due to hamstring soreness.
Cruize Garlett has been called up for his first game of the season. The 21 year-old was not named in the emergencies yesterday but was the obvious replacement to fill the hole in the midfield with Greenwood's absence.
The Collingwood Football Club accepted the Roos' explanation on Friday and the emergency list will remain as originally selected.
