Jack Ziebell, Ben Warren and Sam Wright are self-confessed movie buffs.

Talented on the football field, the trio also considers itself quite savvy with the latest offerings from Hollywood - so much so, kangaroos.com.au has asked for some insight.

For the next few months, Jack, Ben and Sam will be giving you their take on the latest blockbusters to hit the silver screen and they will also dive deep into their own movie collections for in depth reviews and recommendations.

This week, the three boys headed to Village Cinemas to watch Get Him to the Greek.

"Get him to the Greek is an outrageous comedy that tells the story of a smart, ambitious upstart Aaron Green (Jonah Hill), who is trying to get a dream start with a record label.

To achieve this goal, he must accomplish one important task: escort a rock God from London to LA’s Greek theatre for a special $100 million concert.

From there, the movie is filled with far-fetched and sometimes credible scenarios, which give a behind the scenes snap shot into the life of a rock star.

Knowing that Russell Brand was in the film was a big factor for me and his character, Aldous Snow, was a follow on from the film Forgetting Sarah Marshall. If you’ve seen that flick and enjoyed it - then this one is definitely for you.

The movie, as you would expect, is all about sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll.

Some of the most memorable scenes take place in strip clubs, bars and other nightspots - it’s at these venues that the laughs really come thick and fast.

My favourite part was when the group arrives in Las Vegas to meet Aldous’ father. Aaron had been forced to smuggle heroin in his bum for the trip. When they arrive at the hotel, Aldous demands his product so he can get high but Aaron refuses to supply it - instead he destroys it out of concern for his new found friend’s health and well being.

This sends Aldous into a rage and his tantrum was one of the highlights of the movie - I could not stop laughing.

But with all comedies like this, there is a down side - and that unfortunately is a weak storyline. Although it starts out strong, Get him to the Greek leaves you a little disappointed.

If you want to see a funny movie and not have to think too much during the process then I recommend it. However, if you’re put off by dry humour, awkward moments and blunt one-liners then I would give it a wide berth." - Jack Ziebell
