Just 23 players before him have reached the mark, and it’s made even more special by the fact he’ll run out alongside club games-record holder Brent Harvey.
Petrie’s presence as one of the league’s most powerful forwards is a far cry from the shy 18-year old who first took to the field back in round one 2001.
Ironically it was the Bombers he did battle with in that game - the same side he’ll be looking to dominate in the opening round blockbuster.
Petrie had arguably his finest season in 2011 and capped off a remarkable year with All-Australian selection.
He boasts 203 goals but it’s his versatility in a variety of roles that’s made him such an asset to Brad Scott, Dean Laidley and Denis Pagan in the early days.
Now, sitting on the same level as one of the club’s greatest forwards in John Longmire, Petrie eyes a prize that has so far alluded him in his 11 years at the club; a Premiership.
Below is a list of the members of North Melbourne’s 200-club. Some of the greatest football and greatest memories from Arden Street come to mind when you see these names.
