There’s still more than a month until the bounce, but North Melbourne is already close to selling out its first match in Hobart.

The club’s membership department has reported less than 3,000 General Admission tickets remain as well as a strictly limited allotment of reserved seats to be released closer to the game.

“There is genuine excitement building in Tasmania evidenced by the public grabbing these tickets which are becoming harder and harder to get,” North CEO Eugene Arocca told kangaroos.com.au.

Already released reserved seats have sold out and General Admission tickets went on sale at the beginning of the week with more than a thousand already snapped up. Late on Friday, just 2,900 remained.

“We are urging all footy mad people in Tasmania not to wait any longer if they want to see this match. A sell-out is inevitable given we still have four weeks to go until we take on GWS in Round 2 at Blundstone Arena.”

North will also play West Coast at the ground in Round 15 and has already stated its intention to secure a real home ground advantage.

“The support we’ve had from Tasmanians has been outstanding and we know they’ll be there to cheer us on as the home team when the games begin,” Arocca added.

Blundstone Arena has a capacity of approximately 16,000.
