Collingwood star Darcy Moore is set to return to the backline for Saturday's clash against North Melbourne.

The All-Australian defender has spent the last three weeks in attack, booting four goals, but is likely to match up on the likes of Nick Larkey and Tom Campbell at Marvel Stadium.

"He'll go back. The last three weeks that trial has given us some information, not all the type of information we were looking for," Pies coach Nathan Buckley said.

"Darcy behind the ball makes us a better team."

Moore polled three votes when the teams last met in Round 13 last year.

Buckley said Jeremy Howe would be at least another week away from a return from a knee injury.

"(Howe’s) bleeding that he hasn’t been given the green light for this week," he said.

"He’ll have another week of solid prep. He’s shy in terms of workload and hasn’t done any volume as such. He should be right next week.”
