North Melbourne’s midfield dominance against Hawthorn on Saturday has been recognised on an individual level, with a number of North players receiving coaches votes in the wake of the victory.

David Noble and Alastair Clarkson couldn’t split Ben Cunnington and Jy Simpkin for best-on-ground, with the dominant duo polling nine votes each.

Cunnington was a force in the contest as he finished with 37 disposals, with a whopping 27 contested possessions, and 13 clearances.

Simpkin refused to be outshone by the midfield veteran, finishing with 13 clearances of his own from 38 touches.

A vintage performance in the ruck from Todd Goldstein earned him four votes, with the North tall finishing with 19 disposals, 28 hitouts and a goal.

Luke Davies-Uniacke has been receiving the plaudits for his 11-clearance performance – 5 of which came in the third quarter alone, and the coaches rewarded him with his first three votes of the season.

Aaron Hall’s leadership and influence off the half-back line saw him poll for the third consecutive week, as he finished with one vote.
