After an impressive win against the Hawks, will David Noble and the match committee stick with a winning formula? Or could they be tempted by the form of those pushing their case in the VFL?

By popular demand, teams and squads will be announced on Thursday for the remainder of the season.

North Media looks at those in the mix for selection, as we take on Essendon at Marvel Stadium on Sunday.

Bailey Scott has made his name as a wingman, but played more in a traditional midfield role on the weekend, racking up 28 disposals and a goal for North’s VFL side.

His run and carry could be invaluable against a speedy Bombers outfit.

Atu Bosenavulagi can be just as damaging with his pace, but did have a quieter game at VFL level, with 13 possessions, and may need another week to prove himself.

Tristan Xerri has been knocking the door down with his form as a ruckman, with the strong form of Tom Campbell and Todd Goldstein looking the only hurdle to getting in the side.

If the big man keeps up his current output, he’ll be difficult to keep out, even if it means a role as a permanent forward.

Will Phillips is clearly held in high regard, even so early in his career, highlighted by copping a heavy tag against Box Hill.

The medical substitute at AFL level, he’s around the mark, but may need a big game for the Roos’ VFL side to get back in.

Eddie Ford has been a big improver this year, and would add some x-factor in the forward half. A breakout game could bring him into the mix in the coming weeks.
