Essendon forward Devon Smith will miss Sunday's clash against North Melbourne, after succumbing to a hamstring injury.

Smith suffered a hamstring strain in the Bombers' win over Fremantle, and is expected to miss several weeks.

"He’s had an MRI and he’s got a hamstring strain and we won’t see him before the bye, so it’ll be a bit of a lengthy rehab there," Essendon head of high performance Sean Murphy told the club's website.

North Melbourne will be without a raft of stars for Round 10, with Aidan Corr, Luke McDonald, Jared Polec, Jaidyn Stephenson and Robbie Tarrant among those sidelined through injury.
