With the return of Thursday night teams, North Melbourne has named an extended interchange for its clash with Essendon on Sunday.

No omissions have been made after last week’s win against Hawthorn, with David Noble electing not to change a winning formula at this stage.

Bailey Scott, Atu Bosenavulagi and Tristan Xerri have all been named on the extended bench as a result of some strong performances at VFL level, as has last week’s medical substitute, Will Phillips.

Scott impressed with 28 disposals and a goal against Box Hill on the weekend, while Xerri’s body of work at VFL level has him pushing for senior selection as he has dominated in the primary ruck role.

Bosenavulagi has been a strong addition to the VFL backline after being recruited from Collingwood as a forward, while Phillips’ quality motivated Box Hill to tag him relentlessly through last week’s contest, where he still finished with 15 disposals.

The final 22 will be named on Friday night.
