Mary Daw is one of three ins for Friday evening's VFLW clash against Port Melbourne at ETU Stadium.

The sister of former Kangaroos star Majak, Daw has been named on the interchange and will pull on the No.38 in her Roos debut - the same number Majak wore for 32 games at North Melbourne.

Midfielder Jen Guy returns to the side after being a late withdrawal last weekend due to a back complaint, while Georgia Nicholas rounds out the inclusions.

Livewire forward Nyakoat Dojiok will miss Friday's game, having been selected to represent an All-Stars line-up that will face the AFL National Girls Academy team on Sunday.

Sarah Hosking and Tricia Cowan also make way.

North Melbourne's VFLW side has claimed its fourth consecutive win, knocking off reigning premiers Port Melbourne by 11 points under ETU Stadium's Friday night lights.

A second-quarter onslaught from the Roos saw them kick four goals to Port Melbourne's one behind, putting themselves in the box seat to secure the four points.

Alana Barba started the game strongly, kicking the first goal of the game within the opening two minutes after bursting through a pack and taking care with the finish.

It was another impressive outing for Barba who proved to be a difference-maker as she kicked a game-high three goals to go along with 22 disposals, 11 tackles, and seven clearances.

"The last month has been great, I’m really pleased with the progress that we’ve been able to make,” VFLW coach Brett Gourley told NMFC Media.

"We’ve had some really clear focus areas and some parts of our game that we really wanted to improve."

"We’ve continued to work on those at training, and then try and implement them into the game, so tonight was a really good reward for the effort they’ve been putting in at training and throughout the games."

Barba's opening goal gave the Kangas a four-point advantage heading into the first break, with the Borough only managing to muster two behinds in the first 20 minutes.

In the opening stages of the second quarter, Matilda Zander found herself staring down the goal posts to kick her first goal of the night, after cutting across to claim an intercept mark before being awarded with a 50-metre bonus.

The Zander goal was the beginning of what turned into an ambush from the visitors, who unlike the Borough, made the most of their chances, scoring eight times out of their 16 entries inside 50 for the half. 

"Goalkicking and accuracy is definitely something we’ve been working on at training over the last few weeks,” Gourley mentioned.

"Kicking 1.8 against Collingwood and we weren’t overly accurate last week either, (so inaccuracy) has hurt us a bit ... we know we have to make the most of our opportunities moving forward."

After being a late inclusion last week against the Falcons, Mackie Sutcliffe kept her spot in the side this week and repaid the faith, delivering a crunching, chase-down tackle to create Barba's second major. 

North Melbourne held a commanding 30-point lead heading into the main change and was further boosted on the brink of the half-time siren after Maddie Di Cosmo (20 disposals) goaled from close range.

Port Melbourne began to mount a comeback with goals to Maddie Patterson, Bella Clarke and Emily Harley in the third quarter to trim North Melbourne's advantage to just 10 points. 

Needing a goal, Georgia Nicholas found the streaming Zander at half-forward who passed two Borough defenders while tearing inside 50, before taking a bounce and composing herself for a settling goal. 

The Borough didn’t back down though as Kaitlyn O’Keefe kicked the first goal of the final quarter, cutting the margin back down again.

When it looked like Port Melbourne was going to overrun the Kangas, the visitors' tackling pressure shone bright with Barba kicking her third goal thanks to a free kick for holding the ball.

On a sour note, the Roos lost small forward Aisling Tupper in the second quarter, who was helped from the field with a knee injury.
