North Melbourne will enter Saturday's clash with Narrm (Melbourne) Football Club with a new-look midfield as it welcomes four inclusions into the side.

Co-vice captain Jy Simpkin and Round 7 NAB AFL Rising Star nominee Jason Horne-Francis have both proved their fitness after missing last week's clash with Port Adelaide due to hamstring injuries picked up during the week.

Simpkin was a late omission from last week's side after pulling up sore after the captain's run, while Horne-Francis missed his first career game since being drafted with the No.1 pick.

As part of the club's contingent of Indigenous players Simpkin and Horne-Francis will both play key roles in the club's celebration of Sir Doug Nicholls Round and will join their teammates in wearing the 'Marram' guernsey against the Demons.

Ruck/forward Tristan Xerri also comes back into the side having shaken off the foot injury that has kept him sidelined for the last three weeks.

Xerri has not been sighted at senior level since the Round 6 clash with Geelong where he finished with 12 disposals and 19 hitouts.

Prior to his injury he had cemented himself as the Kangaroos' No.1 ruck and had played in the first six games of the season.

Hugh Greenwood also comes back into the side after missing last week's clash with Port Adelaide due to health and safety protocols.

The Tasmanian-born midfielder will bring some much-welcomed grit and balance to the middle of the park, with the Kangaroos set to take on one of the best midfield groups in the AFL.

Jaidyn Stephenson, Atu Bosenavulagi and Callum Coleman-Jones have been omitted from the side, while Jack Mahony will miss due to an ankle injury.

Stephenson, Bosenavulagi, Coleman-Jones and potential father-son debutant Jackson Archer make up the emergency list for the clash, with one to be named the medical substitute an hour before the bounce at Marvel Stadium.
