The final round of the 2022 AFL season will see the last member of North Melbourne’s 2021 draft pool to make their debut.

Nineteen-year-old Josh Goater will run out onto Marvel Stadium for the first time at AFL level on Saturday as he becomes Shinboner No.1046 against the Gold Coast Suns.

Goater will follow in the footsteps of young teammates Jason Horne-Francis, Paul Curtis, Miller Bergman and Jackson Archer, as well as mid-season draft selection Kallan Dawson, who have all featured at the senior level for their first time this year.

The dashing half-back/wingman from the Calder Cannons was selected with pick No.22 in last year's draft and has impressed throughout his first season at the club, averaging 15.6 disposals and 4.3 marks per game in the VFL.

His drive through defence and the wings will add plenty of energy to the North line-up while his ability to gather intercept possessions and initiate attacking chains should prove difficult for oppositions to handle.
