North Melbourne is proud to induct James Brayshaw, Frank Goode and Jona Segal as Life Members of the club.

JAMES BRAYSHAW

James served as the president of the North Melbourne Football Club from late 2007 to 2016 and played the leading role in the club's decision to not relocate to the Gold Coast.

His achievements over his time at North Melbourne include overseeing an increase in membership from around 23,000 in 2007 to a record 43,721 midway through 2016, the $15 million redevelopment of North's Arden Street headquarters in 2009 and securing a lucrative secondary market for the club in Hobart.

When James was in charge, his commitment and leadership guided us through some extremely challenging times and his amazing work is still in effect to this day.

FRANK GOODE

Frank began his association with NMFC in 1958 when he played one game with the Under 19’s and in 1961, he joined North mid-season and made his senior debut in the last game of the year against St Kilda.

Frank became Shinboner No.537 and played 73 for the club between 1961-1967. He also kicked 107 goals during his time and was the club's leading goalkicker in '65 and '66.

In 2007, Frank was appointed President of the North Melbourne Past Players and Officials Association and was also appointed at the same time to the board of the combined AFL Past Players Association.

Frank has been the conduit for many North Melbourne past players who have looked to the AFLPA for assistance, be it financial or for health reasons.

JONA SEGAL

Jona commenced his career at North Melbourne in 2000 and was a key pillar in the club’s strength and conditioning and nutrition programs.

He departed the club late last year after 21 seasons that saw him work with five senior coaches and more than 150 debutants, across close to 500 games.

He held the role as High Performance Manager from 2017 to 2020, which included overseeing individual at-home programs for the entire list when the 2020 season was postponed. He also initiated numerous innovative pre-season training camps in Utah, to enhance player performance.

The North Melbourne Football Club owes a great debt of gratitude to these three men who are all worthy Life Member recipients.
