North Melbourne has reached a major membership milestone, recording over 50,000 members for the first time in its 153-year history.

The 2022 total of 50,191 surpassed the club’s previous membership record of 46,357 recorded in 2021.

With a record 3054 AFLW members signing up for season six earlier this year, the club is on track to set another record number in season seven.

“This milestone is proof our members are among the most loyal in the AFL,” North Melbourne CEO Ben Amarfio said.

“Our members are there for us when we need it most, and it couldn’t be more true this year. In what has been a challenging year for the club, the spirit and belief of our faithful members has remained.

“We have had record membership tally results for each of the past few seasons, despite us being in the midst of a major list turnover and rebuild. This record result once again affirms to us that our supporters are on board with our long-term strategy and getting behind our club. It’s a great showing of faith and belief in our direction.

“A thank you goes to our hardworking staff, in particular our membership and marketing teams who have tirelessly worked towards this milestone all year.

“We have four home games remaining across the AFLW season, with one in Launceston next week and three at Arden St in the second half of the season.

“We look forward to seeing our members and supporters out in force at our spiritual home.

“On behalf of the entire club, thank you to all 50,191 of you who have signed up.”
