Experienced Roos Kate Shierlaw and Jenna Bruton will hope to prove their fitness for Round 4 selection alongside young forward Charli Granville.

Originally named to play the Cats last Friday night, Shierlaw was withdrawn close to the bounce at GMHBA Stadium due to hamstring tightness.

The key forward will face a test this week as she aims to reclaim her spot in North Melbourne’s forward line.

"Off the back of the five-day turnaround, Kate had some minor hamstring tightness," strength and conditioning coach Hugh Mason said.

"We gave her the opportunity to warm up pre-game but opted to not play her."

Midfielder Bruton will be available for selection if she can successfully make it through training this week.

The 55-gamer is yet to feature for the Kangaroos this season and could offer a massive boost to an already firing North Melbourne outfit.

"Jenna is progressing well and has passed all required outcome measures to this point after transitioning to modified load training last week with the group," he said.

Second-year Roo Charli Granville is "progressing nicely" from the bruised ribs she copped in a recent scrimmage match and will continue ramping up her training loads, while a thigh issue has interrupted defender Cassidy Mailer’s season.

"Cass will be reassessed by our medical team this week," Mason said.

"While we are confident that this won't be a long-term injury, further updates on her specific return to play timeframes will be confirmed in due course."
