North Melbourne VFL-listed player Cooper Trembath has been selected by the Kangaroos with pick No.10 in the 2025 AFL Mid-Season Rookie Draft.

The 19-year-old has been promoted to the AFL list amid hot form, booting three goals in his most recent VFL outing against Brisbane in Round 7.

The key position player was mainly used as a tall defender for Eastern Ranges during last year’s Coates League season, but has been thrown forward in recent weeks.

"We've tracked Cooper for two or three years now," Thursfield said.

"He's a big strong lad who can really mark the footy, and to Cooper's credit, he missed out on a couple of drafts, but this the last six to eight months, he's got himself really fit.

"He’s shown us this year that he can actually play forward as well, so he's a high-marking, competitive (player) who we think can play at both ends.

"(North Melbourne VFL Coach) Tom Lynch is a big rap for him. We know what he's like as a kid… this means a lot to him, so he's gonna put his head down and get to work."

Trembath joins Werribee VFL product Zac Banch as a new arrival at Arden St, after the Roos selected him with pick No.2 on Wednesday night.
