North Melbourne will celebrate some of its most famous names as part of the club's Centenary celebrations at Marvel Stadium in Round 17, including some of the longest-serving Shinboners.

Next Thursday night’s pre-match ceremony will be packed with stars representing the club's first 100 years in the VFL/AFL.

Among them on the ground at Marvel Stadium will be the club’s six 300-game players: Brent Harvey, Drew Petrie, Todd Goldstein, Glenn Archer, Wayne Schimmelbusch and Adam Simpson.

These champions and stalwarts represent some incredible eras at North Melbourne, having collectively played over 2,000 games for the club.

Together they have won seven premierships and seven Syd Barker medals, while Schimmelbusch, Simpson and Harvey are all former captains.

More star attendees are set to be announced over the coming days, with some surprise reveals also slated for the night.

The gathering of club champions will add a significant layer of history and prestige to what promises to be a memorable night for the club and one not-to-be-missed for member and supporters.

The on-ground ceremony will be held ahead of North Melbourne’s clash against the Western Bulldogs on Thursday, July 3.

Fans are urged to be in their seats by 6.45pm.

All members have access to the club’s Centenary game, with access consistent with all other Marvel Stadium home games.

General public tickets are available at Ticketmaster.

North Melbourne's 300-gamers

Glenn Archer
Others played as many games for North Melbourne as Archer (311) and won as many premierships (two), but there is only one Shinboner of the Century. The title recognises the fearless, determined, unstoppable Archer as the player who most embodied the 'Shinboner Spirit' across the club's first 80 years in the VFL/AFL. He is a three-time All Australian, and won the 1996 Norm Smith Medal. He is in both the club's and the AFL's Hall of Fame, and is a back pocket in the club's Team of the Century.

Todd Goldstein
'Goldy' played 315 games for the Roos after debuting in 2008. He was North Melbourne's premier ruckman for over a decade and was as consistent as big men come. After earning All-Australian honours and the Syd Barker Medal in 2015, he became the first VFL/AFL player to record over 1,000 hitouts in a season and holds the all-time record for career hitouts.

Brent Harvey
The all-time AFL games record-holder and one of North Melbourne's most beloved champions. In his 432 games, all for the Roos, 'Boomer' was a premiership player, club captain and a five-time Syd Barker medallist. First and foremost, he was a Shinboner. Despite his many career accolades, he said his most prized award was life membership of the Kangaroos.

Drew Petrie
Five-time club leading goalkicker and 2011 All-Australian. Petrie was exceptionally versatile across his 316 games as a Shinboner and was coach Dani Laidley's 'Mr Fixit' during the late 2000s. He later settled in attack where he became the club's sharpshooter, finishing his time at the club with 428 goals. He kicked two crucial goals in the 2014 elimination final against Essendon, cementing his place in Kangaroos folklore.

Wayne Schimmelbusch
Club captain for nine years (1979-87), skippering the club more times than anyone but Wayne Carey.  Fearless and inspirational, he played 306 games including two premierships, while repeatedly pushing himself to his physical limit. "You couldn't kill him with a stick," former teammate Peter Keenan said of the man they called 'Schimma'. He is a Legend in the Roos' Hall of Fame, and is on the half-forward flank in North Melbourne's Team of the Century.

Adam Simpson
A two-time premiership player (1996, 1999) and 306-gamer. Simpson was a standout Roo during his time at Arden Street. The former No.7 grew from lockdown midfielder to elite ball-winner, earning a Syd Barker Medal and All-Australian selection in 2002. He captained the club from 2004 to 2008 and was a true student of the game, pioneering the use of the 'third-man-up' tactic at ruck contests which was later outlawed in 2017.
