North Melbourne ruck Tristan Xerri has committed his future to the club, signing a two-year contract extension that will see him remain at Arden Street until at least the end of the 2031 AFL season.

Originally contracted until 2029, Xerri has shown exceptional development since making his debut in 2020, establishing himself as one of the league’s best rucks.

A lifelong North Melbourne supporter, the 26-year-old has played 70 games since he was selected with pick No.72 in the 2017 AFL Draft.

Xerri has continued to grow this season following a breakout 2024 in which he earned selection in the All-Australian squad of 44, and was runner-up for the Syd Barker Medal.

He has averaged a career-high 36 hitouts so far in 2025 and ranks No.1 for tackles among rucks and third in the League for clearances.

North Melbourne head of football talent Brady Rawlings said Xerri continues to play a key role in the team's improvement.

"Tristan has become a pivotal part of our team, not just with his on-field performance but also his leadership and work ethic,” Rawlings said.

"His commitment to the club for another two years speaks volumes about his belief in our direction and the culture we're building.

“We're incredibly pleased to have him locked in for the long haul."
