Returning Roo Bailey Scott will line up as North Melbourne's substitute for Sunday's clash against the GWS Giants in Canberra.

The versatile Scott is among four inclusions to the team that lost to St Kilda by nine points last week, joining ruck Tristan Xerri after serving his three-game suspension.

As revealed earlier on Friday, forward Geordie Payne and key tall Cooper Trembath will both make their AFL debuts.

Senior coach Alastair Clarkson revealed the news with an assist from VFL coach Tom Lynch during the morning team meeting.

Spearhead Nick Larkey (knee) leads the outs, after he was ruled out for the rest of the season. 

Small forward Zac Banch (ribs) also misses this week. 

Paul Curtis is unavailable due to his one-match suspension for striking Saint Angus Hastie, while Robert Hansen jnr has been omitted.

Payne and Trembath will start on the interchange bench, alongside Cooper Harvey and Brynn Teakle.
