North Melbourne has named its extended squad ahead of Sunday's clash with Richmond in Hobart.

Forward Paul Curtis returns after serving his one-match ban for striking.

Captain Jy Simpkin, who has missed the past two games due to a knee injury, has also been added to the squad.

Youngsters Will Phillips, Matt Whitlock and Taylor Goad join the pair as potential inclusions, with Goad in the frame for a possible AFL debut.

Defender Riley Hardeman suffered a concussion in the Round 22 defeat to Greater Western Sydney and will miss the trip to Tasmania, while ruck-forward Brynn Teakle has been omitted.

North Melbourne will name its selected team on Friday at 5pm AEST.
